- If you're going to Kyoto, you could do something like this. Tokyo to Kyoto. Kyoto to Nagano. Nagano to Tokyo. All the above use the JR Pass. From Nagano you could take a bus or private railway train to Yudanaka and stay somewhere in the area for the night.
- It's easy, just one transfer at Nagano. From Tokyo station get on Shinkansen ASAMA to Nagano station (90min) At Nagano station change to the Nagano Dentetsu Line and get off at Yudanaka …
